Sharing what is coming, so that the word may keep flowing and the community keep growing.

Hello, dear readers,
I begin with what I owe you: an apology. Since 3 July, I have published nothing on these Dialogues of the New World. Fifteen weeks of silence, and I had not warned you. I should have done so; I did not, and I ask you to forgive me for it.
I should now like to tell you why, and to do so plainly. From December to July, I wrote without stopping. When I took stock, there was the equivalent of three books of 350 pages, together with their English translations. Such an investment left me with an immense need for silence.
So I walked, on the Camino de Santiago, then on the paths of the Alps. I spent a week of retreat in an abbey at Bricquebec at the end of August. I was seeking to withdraw, and I truly needed to.
But on my return in September, it proved far harder than I had expected. To find Paris again, its pace, its noise, public life: I could not find my place in it again. And I must confess something else: I felt an inner resistance before the work that awaited me. What I believe I must say about the state of our societies, about what might come after, demands rigour, patience, courage and a great deal of time.
On the professional side, I also finalised and launched my new therapist’s website, which needed renewing. I have begun publishing weekly videos of well-being advice on Instagram. And as for Dialogues of the New World, I took the time to ask myself seriously what it should become, after an investment so massive that I could not sustain it any longer. This question occupied me for a long time, but it now has an answer.
For the year ahead, with the presidential election in France and major ballots elsewhere in the world, I want to give more room to two sections, though not on the same footing. ‘New World’ first: the long term, the democratic revolutions that seem to me necessary, other ways of organising ourselves together; and ‘Current glances’: shorter reactions to the burning news of the day.
I know that these two sections do not move at the same pace. One calls for distance, the other for responsiveness. This tension I do not hide, and I embrace it, but it explains why I cannot do everything, still less do everything quickly.
This is why I have settled on a precise rhythm: one fixed appointment, guaranteed each week, on Sunday morning. It will be an article, or soon a podcast, of which I shall tell you on 18 October. That is the commitment I am making, and it is the only one. I prefer to be there every Sunday, regularly, rather than promise you a great deal and vanish again.
Each Sunday appointment will belong to one of the two sections that are the heart of the Dialogues: ‘The Eternal Present’ first, with the long memory, spiritual timelessness, the teachings of the Words of Life and the legacies we inherit; and ‘The World We Cross’ next, with our age, its fractures, its mutations, read in the light of the spiritual, together with the paths of a ‘New World’ yet to be invented.
Some weeks, when my time allows, I shall gladly add an ‘Current glances’, on an urgent piece of news worth underlining, or a ‘Notebooks of life’, according to what I have to confide to you. But this will be a supplement, not a commitment.
A word now on the section ‘The Waymakers’. This space is yours. Each of my texts remains, of course, open to comments. But if a subject seems to you to call for more room, write to me, by replying to one of my newsletters or at the address that will appear at the end of each article, and we shall see together how your text may appear in the section ‘A word that circulates’. And if one of my articles calls you to dialogue, if you wish to answer it or to extend it in two voices, that is precisely what the section ‘Two quills’ offers. These two kinds of text will also come, when they are ready, as a supplement to our Sunday appointment.
Now for the dates. On Sunday 18 October, I shall send you a newsletter setting out what is planned, section by section, for the months ahead. On Sunday 25 October will appear, in the ‘New World’ section, the first text of a series devoted to democratic alternatives, to other models of society. It will start from a simple question. What link is there between the spiritual development of individuals and the way a society functions and organises itself? And what might our way of living together, socially and politically, become from there?
Two books are also in preparation, which will develop series you already know: ‘Towards Spiritual Sovereignty’, on self-realisation, and ‘Israel-Palestine: Beyond the War of Narratives’. These are ongoing projects that I shall finalise over the coming year, and I shall of course speak to you about them again when they are ready.
There it is. Thank you to all those who have stayed. Thank you again for your patience.
See you on Sunday morning, the 18th. Until very soon.
